Tell us a little about you and your beloved: Austin and I have known each other since we were children. My mom provided childcare for his older brother, and I had met Austin a few times.
In 2006, as a junior, I transferred to Delta High School in Clarksburg, the same school Austin was attending. We reunited, not having seen each other since we were children. Through the next year, we built a great friendship, and began dating that summer. We have been inseparable ever since, knowing there would never be anyone else for me.
In December of 2011, Austin surprised me by taking me to my favorite place, Burney Falls. He proposed in front of the waterfall and, of course, I said yes! I am so honored to have been with my husband since we were 16 and 17 years old and I cannot wait until I can say we have been married 50 years.
What was the most amazing part of your day? Seeing Austin as I walked down the aisle. The look on his face is one I will never forget.
What else would you like to share about your big day? With a tight budget, we had a DIY wedding. Without the network of close family and friends, this wedding would have not been possible. The Pastor who married us, Ernie Mendez, has been a family friend since I was born, making the moment even more special.

First Dance Song: “Speechless” by The Veronicas. The same song was playing when Austin asked me to be his girlfriend.
Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? Don’t get so caught up in the day that you don’t take the time to enjoy all of the love surrounding you. Everyone is there to celebrate your commitment to one another, and that is truly magical.
Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? I can honestly say this was a dream wedding and I would not change anything.
