We are beyond impressed by the bakers and pastry chefs in our area. It’s one thing to make a cake look beautiful or taste amazing, but to do both is a true talent. We’ve gathered some of our favorite cakes from this season to show just how creative these cake makers are. If only we could serve up samples via Internet.

Above&BeyondCakes

Above & Beyond Cakes

Above & Beyond Cakes surely lives up to their name with this massive cake creation. A sheer magnitude of this cake is impressive enough, but add to it the incredible details and flawless design and it’s (almost) too pretty to eat.

Before we get to the cake, here’s a big shout out to the couple that took a rewarding risk with color. We love the combination of bright colors and accents of gold. The cake not only captures the colors beautifully but also plays with various shapes, sizes and patterns giving it 360 degrees of details.

Fondant is gorgeous to look at and the possibilities for design with fondant are endless. But let’s be real, it takes a certain palette to appreciate the taste of it. Enter: Buttercream. The fluffy, creamy taste of intense gluttony is worth every calorie. Cake designers are only getting more creative with their use of buttercream and are creating cakes that can rival any fondant design. This gorgeous layered cake for example is simple yet stunning and delicately perfect.

This cake is as cool as they come and we can only guess that the couple that selected this is pretty rad too. Studio Sweets proves how incredibly artistic cake decorators are with this pop of color that resembles something most tattoo artists would be jealous of.

Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dreams Wedding Cakes & Flowers

Yup, we’re wowed yet again. The gold on this cake shimmers better than some jewelry. Sweet Dreams managed to create an elegant, structured cake that at the same time is still sweet and delicate. Truly a work of heart.
