Did you know that we only use real brides, real grooms and real couples as our models in Real Weddings?! It’s true! For our “Bohemian Love Story” styled shoot in the current Summer/Fall 2016 issue, we were lucky enough to have newlyweds Amanda and Tim Erskine as our real couple models!

The day of the shoot was surprisingly hot, but Amanda and Tim just took it in stride and we couldn’t be happier with the end result! Here, you get to know just a little bit more about this fantastic couple!

RW:  What made you want to model for this shoot?
AE: I have always loved Real Weddings Magazine. I would look at it even before I was engaged. Typical woman, right? It’s so fun to see REAL people and all the creative and beautiful ideas. I was so excited to be selected for this amazing opportunity.

RW: What was your favorite part of modeling?
AE: I absolutely loved modeling for this shoot. I don’t know how to even pick my favorite part. Every part of it was amazing. I felt like I was getting married all over again. Getting to have my hair and makeup done and try on all those beautiful dresses was such a fun experience.

RW: What was your favorite part of this shoot? Did you relate to the concept?
AE: I loved the  theme because it was so different than my own beach wedding in Mexico. I feel like I got the best of both worlds.

RW: What was it like modeling with your husband?
AE: I loved having Tim there. He was amazing and was such a good sport through all of it. He even wore a bow tie. That will probably never happen again!

RW: What do you do for a living?
AE: I work in marketing and events. I work at an amazing marketing firm called Walibu, and I have an event company called Erskine Events (just renamed with my new last name, yay!).

RW: What do you do for fun?
AE: For fun…hmm with three kids, they keep me pretty busy. When we do have free time, we like going to the snow or beach. Or if we find time without kids, we love to go wine tasting or just hang out with friends and family.

RW: Tell us about your love story. How did you meet? What was the proposal like?
AE: Tim and I both had daughters in the same first grade class. The girls asked for a play date, so we set up a time to meet at the park and the rest is history. Tim is a fireman and proposed to me when I went to visit him at work. He arranged for me to do a ride along in the fire engine for a day—it was so much fun and interesting to see a day at the station. On our last call, Tim sat in the back with me. I don’t know how I didn’t catch on then. As we were flying down the road with lights and sirens, he signaled for me to take off the headset. He leaned in and popped the question. It was amazing. I love telling the story.

RW: Tell us about your own wedding.
AE: We got married on a beach in Mexico. A tropical relaxed wedding with 14 of our closest family and friends is exactly what we wanted. I had a stargazer lily and soft pink theme. We stayed at an all-inclusive resort, and it was amazing.

RW: If you could offer any advice to future brides, what would it be?
AE: Enjoy it. It’s not everyday that you get to be pampered!
