Brides, are you ready to take a trip to the heart of Wine Country? Today Real Weddings Magazine takes you to Napa!
True to its name, the River Terrace Inn is perfectly perched on River Trail and the Oxbow Park Preserve River Trail in the glorious Napa Valley. Just minutes from downtown Napa, you get all the pleasures of the historic city center with the comforts of a tranquil getaway when you’re ready to relax. The rooms are lovely, with a stylish birch tree print wallpaper and modern wine country color palette. We especially enjoyed our plush king-sized bed, Jacuzzi tub and magnificent river view from our private terrace.
Check In: 1600 Soscol Avenue in Napa. 707-320-9000, riverterraceinn.com
Check Out: The nearby wineries. In addition to great wine and olive oil tastings downtown, the premier wineries up Highway 29 are worth the short drive. We ventured up to St. Helena to sample the wares at Flora Springs and V. Sattui. You can grab a boxed lunch to go at the hotel and enjoy it will sipping wines on the Flora Springs patio overlooking a vineyard. The wines we sampled were excellent and the staff super friendly and accommodating.
We then headed over to V. Sattui across the 29. A family tradition for more than a 100 years, the current winery was built in the 70s and continues to grow in popularity. The enthusiasm is amazing considering the winery does not distribute to stores or restaurants outside the property. A testament to the popularity of the wines! We enjoyed ours in the air-conditioned cellar bar and got the rich history of these formidable vintages. Needless to say our car was full of wines from both tasting rooms by the end of the afternoon!
Don’t Miss: Cuvée. The hotel’s signature restaurant is also a premiere dining destination for Napa itself. The rustic-meets-contemporary venue wraps around a tree-shaded patio bustling with dinners enjoying the warm summer evening. We feasted on farm to table dishes that included a beat salad with bacon and blue cheese (yum!), fresh scallops with a carrot and vanilla sauce and a summer cherry bread pudding. All of the dishes were specially paired with exceptional wines from start to finish. The romantic atmosphere, friendly service and divine dining make this a must-visit on your next trip to Napa.
