The Couple: Belinda Vanzant and William Cunningham, Jr. (Bill)
Wedding Date: September 26, 2010
Photography: Chuck Roberts Photography
Tell us a little about you and your beloved:  Our relationship was just waiting to happen! Our families have been friends for many years. We were introduced by Bill’s oldest sister Sheila. We dated for one year before Bill proposed to me on my birthday. We continue to share a lot of first time experiences together…even getting married! Finding that special person after being single all of our lives is still truly amazing. We often wonder why we didn’t meet sooner, but it was all a part of God’s plan.
What was the most amazing part of your day?
Bill: Seeing Belinda walk down the hill and realizing that “she’s all mine.”
Belinda: Walking down the hill with my dad and seeing Bill peeking through the scenery to get a glance at me coming down the hill was so sweet. Once I made it to the bottom our eyes locked and he whispered, “You look so beautiful,” and I said, “You look so handsome.” The kiss!!!  WOW!
What else would you like to share about your big day? Keeping with a simplistic theme, the ceremony was short and sweet. Bill’s brother, Dr. Bryant C. Wyatt officiated the wedding. Bill and I decided that we wanted to take Holy Communion during the ceremony. Both of my parents, Mr. and Mrs. L. Vanzant, presented me to my husband at the altar. Bill and I were whisked away on a golf cart to take photos, while our guests went on to the reception for hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. Our big day was truly the best! We had such a great time, and we still get comments about how beautiful our wedding was. Our families and friends played a very important part of our day! Thanks so much for your love and support. One of the most memorable moments of the evening occurred when Bill serenaded me during our first dance. I felt so blessed to have such a wonderful man as my husband. Bill was so much fun as he had everyone laughing at his hilarious way of taking the garter off to the Mission Impossible song.

Any other of your wedding vendor(s) you’d like to call out? All of our vendors were fantastic! Special thanks to Whitney Oaks Coordinator Lindsey and staff. The set up was breathtaking. To Mackenzie and Chuck of Chuck Roberts Photography — we are friends for life… “Go Pacers.” The pictures are awesome. To my best friend Sharon — the cake was beautiful and delicious!
Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? A wedding lasts only for a day and it goes quickly. But a marriage last a lifetime. This special day belongs to you and your future spouse. Enjoy every moment.
Make sure that someone video tapes your wedding. It is great to look back once the day has past. Because you won’t remember all of the things that occurred. My sister-in-law Vienna suggested that we get a videographer and that was the best suggestion. Thanks Sis!
Our photographer recommended that we do something different instead of the traditional guest book. We had a photo album designed by our photographer with our engagements photos. Our guests were able to write special encouraging words.
Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? After it’s all said and done you might want to do a couple of things differently, but why? The day was beautiful and memorable…I wouldn’t change a thing. By changing one thing it would not have made the day any more special than being with my new husband, new family and friends.
