Hi Real Weddings Reader! We’re so glad that you’re here! So…you want to know how you can be a model for Real Weddings, or maybe get your wedding featured in Real Weddings? Well, here’s some quick info:

Real Bride Models

Best Wedding Vendors | Sacramento Tahoe Northern California Venue Photographer | Real Weddings Magazine

We only use REAL Brides as our models for all of our photo shoots. Where do you start? Enter our cover model contest. We typically pick our real bride models from all of the gorgeous brides who enter the contest.

We do our Cover Model contest twice per year — in January and in July — and we post it all over our social media and blog, so be sure to tune in often as to when that opens. Note that because of COVID, our publishing schedule is, well, off, isn’t everything right now? Keep an eye on our blog and social for when we’ll be accepting submissions again.

Featured Real Weddings

We love love love featuring local real weddings on our website and in our magazine. We look for all types of weddings:  DIY, rustic, bling-y, glamorous, modern + contemporary, traditional + classic, microweddings, elopements and grad celebrations, and everything in between—all at venues throughout the region including your back yard, golf course + country club, barns + farms, ballrooms + event centers, and modern chic warehouse industrial.

There’s no magic bullet on what makes a wedding “work” for us, why we select the weddings we select. We want different, unique, classic, fun, colorful, muted, touching stories…in all, we want everything and anything. We believe that every wedding is publish-worthy. The challenge is there is only so much space.

The nitty gritty: like our cover model contest, we take real weddings submissions twice per year: in January and in July.

We require the weddings to be submitted through the photographer, as they own the copyright to the photos.

If we select a wedding to be featured in print, we do require the photographer to become an advertiser with us for the one issue where the wedding will appear. Note that we do not have that requirement for weddings we select for our blog.

Want to know more?  Feel free to email us at info (at)—we’re happy to answer any and all questions that you may have!

Happy Planning!
