Tell us a little about you and your beloved:
{Tanya} Well it started at work, when Aaron was bugging me to meet his single brother. I used “bugging” correctly as at that moment of my life I was a full time student and a full time employee. That being said I barely had time to sleep, let alone have a date. But I agreed to a Facebook message.
{Adam} We sent messages back and forth getting to know the small details of our lives. I asked for her number and, even though she said no, I was persistent. She said that if I can wait until school is over, we can go on a date. I agreed and did not message her for a few days.
{Tanya} …and then we did go on a date and another date, and trip to Yosemite, and camping in Tahoe, and trip to Windsor with parents, and Hawaii. And, we could not stop because time spending together was just wonderful.
{Adam} We love each other very much and I knew she would be my wife. Tanya went to Hawaii with her mom and I flew out to see them a few days later. I had the perfect plan in my mind on how I was going to ask her while we were snorkeling. But, I woke up to a rainy windy day in Hawaii praying that soon the sun would come out. However, when we arrived to Hanauma bay the waves were too harsh, so we did not snorkel. I had to think on my feet and find a perfect time and place.
Later that day we headed to the beach right next to where we were staying, and it was sunny and beautiful weather on the West Shore. At the end of this beach was a secluded rocky pier. I asked Tanya if she would like to go on a walk with me and she agreed. At this time my heart was pounding out of my chest. Tanya and I sat down on the rocks and I began professing my love to her and preparing to ask her the biggest question of our lives. And then, out of nowhere 2 HUGE crabs ran by and Tanya jumped up to follow them. Again my plan was not working out as I saw it in my head. We sat down again and I did not waste any time. I got on one knee, told her how much I love her, and asked her to be my wife. With tears rolling down her cheeks and her arms holding me tight on that beach in Hawaii she said, “Yes!”
What was the most amazing part of your day? Adam’s father as our officiant taking our vows and my parents who flew from Belarus (where I’m originally from) saying their toasts. We also did a surprise Harlem Shake entrance before our ceremony, it set the mood for the whole evening.
