From a cross-country love story to a heartfelt California celebration, Laura and Philip’s wedding day was as meaningful as it was joyful. The two met on Christian Mingle while living in different states—Laura in Georgia and Philip in California—and built their relationship through FaceTime calls and frequent visits, turning long distance into something lasting.

Their engagement was a perfect reflection of their journey. During a fall trip to Georgia, Philip planned to propose at a waterfall, but after unexpected Oktoberfest crowds forced a change of plans, he led Laura to Helton Creek Falls—where he popped the question in a beautifully unplanned moment.

Planning a wedding in California while living in Georgia wasn’t easy, but with the help of Winchester Vista by Wedgewood Weddings and a trusted vendor team, everything came together seamlessly. Their day centered on what mattered most: a simple, Christ-centered ceremony, meaningful music (including Laura’s dream of live cellists), and celebrating with the people they love.

Even with a rainy weather pivot and a few last-minute decisions, the day unfolded perfectly—filled with emotion, joy, and genuine connection. Laura and Philip’s wedding is a reminder that when the focus stays on love, everything else falls into place.

We’re thrilled to feature their love story in the Winter/Spring 2026 issue of Real Weddings.
