Some wedding days are filled with big, show-stopping moments, and others are built from the quiet, meaningful ones you wish you could freeze in time. For Kelsey and Austin, their day had a little bit of both.

Set amongst the trees at Forest House Lodge, their celebration blended sweet family moments with relaxed forest-lodge charm. One of the most meaningful parts of the day actually happened before the ceremony, when the couple took 30 minutes alone together to read their vows privately—a moment that Austin counts as one of his favorites. The other? Sharing their first dance with their daughter, Miley.

Planning the wedding itself turned out to be surprisingly smooth. With help from their professional local vendor team, everything flowed easily on the big day. Kelsey admits she worried about how her floral colors would look against the darker trees and wood of the lodge—but once everything came together, it looked amazing. The only thing she might skip next time? DIY-ing all those signs and name tags. The result was a day that felt heartfelt, joyful, and wonderfully personal—from forest views and soft florals to the kind of family moments that make a wedding truly unforgettable.

We’re thrilled to feature their love story in the Winter/Spring 2026 issue of Real Weddings.
