Laura and Armando met at the gym, and a friendship slowly turned into something more over the course of a year. Their engagement came on October 3, 2023, during a family trip to Mexico—Armando brought Laura to her childhood park in Aguascalientes, right next to the church where her own parents were married, and proposed in the middle of the gazebo. In early June of 2025, the two exchanged vows in a traditional Catholic ceremony at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, complete with the Lasso tradition, before celebrating with family and friends at The Willow Ballroom and Event Center.
Laura wore a mantilla veil, and the couple’s signature drinks—a Paloma and a Clericot—set the tone for the night. The soundtrack told its own story, opening with a classic Trio sound, shifting into mariachi during dinner, and closing out with cumbia, salsa, and reggaeton that kept guests on the dance floor nearly all night. Instead of a garter toss, Armando surprised everyone with a Labubu toss, then got lifted into the air by friends and family in celebration. Laura and Armando barely sat down—and their guests still talk about the dancing, and the food, to this day.
We’re thrilled to feature their love story in the Summer/Fall 2026 issue of Real Weddings.
