What inspires you? Our Real Weddings team is constantly striving to find things to do just that. What inspires us, often, are the local real weddings that we get submitted to us each and every issue. We’re not kidding when we say we get more than 200 local real weddings submitted to us each and every issue for consideration to be featured in our publication. And to say that it’s difficult to pick just 35 to feature in print and online is a huge understatement—we wish we could feature them all in print and online! There are so many fabulous weddings that we think you should see, so while we can only include 35 here in print and as online exclusive real weddings, to calm our desire for even more, we feature at least one real wedding on our Real Weddings Magazine blog each week! So tune in to our blog for your daily dose of inspiration!
Did we mention that we’re mobile? If you’ve got an iPhone or an iPad (and yes, we’ve got an Android app in the works!) you can take your copy of Real Weddings Magazine with you any where you go. Just download the FREE app from the iTunes app store and you’ll be good to go! Oh, and, if you’re on Facebook or Twitter, we’re there too and you can follow us! We’re at facebook.com/realweddings and twitter/realweddingssac.
We’re beyond excited to announce that we’ve created a Contest page on our Web site! That’s right—we’ve teamed up with our partners to give away fabulous bridal loot each and every month! Check it out for yourself at realweddingsmag.com!
So what’s in store for you in this Summer/Fall 2011 issue of Real Weddings Magazine? As always, we try to pack the magazine with so much good stuff for you! First off, congratulations to our “Always a Bridesmaid“ columnist Darren Elms on his recent engagement. As he embarks on his own wedding journey, no doubt he’ll be scouring the universes for groovy things to help in his planning, and I’m sure he’ll share these finds with you here and online on our Real Weddings Magazine blog! Check out his column on page 26. For many in this day and age, marriages join multiple families, and couples often want to include these members in their ceremony. For tips and ideas on how to accomplish this, check out Rev. Jeri Murphy’s “Ceremony“ column on page 44. What can we say about our cover model finalists Lindsay, April and Breia, except, “Ladies, you totally rocked it!“ This past March these three young ladies strutted their stuff at our cover model photo shoot at Arden Hills Resort Club & Spa. The incomparable Jackie Willard from Jacqueline Photography captured these gorgeous gals in some truly exquisite photos that appear not only in our layout starting on page 51, but also on the extraordinary covers that we feature this issue. Each of these local real bride cover model finalists had such spectacular photos…so many were cover worthy—it was hard to pick just two. You can see more photos from our shoot online at our Real Weddings Web site, www.realweddingsmag.com!
And, of course, we always have our “Style Files“ section! Each issue we scour the local area for some pretty awesome photos—exquisite flowers, scrumptious cakes and desserts, fun favors and glamorous invitations—all from local wedding professionals, along with usable tips, helpful hints and extensive local vendor resources to help you assemble your wedding dream team. Be sure to check out our “Style Files“ online and on our blog for even more photos!
Real Weddings Magazine is truly a team effort—I cannot thank all of my team and the wonderful contributing wedding professionals enough for all of their help to produce this issue. Thanks gang…I owe you big time!
As always, we love to hear from our readers—tell us what you like and what you want more of…we want to serve it up for you! Feel free to email me at wendy(at)stylemg.com.
