Almost always, the advice our couples want to share with other couples-to-be is, “enjoy the moment—it goes by way too quickly!” And, boy, do we know it. That advice applies not only to weddings, but, to life too really! Wouldn’t you agree? This year, we’re celebrating 10 years of Real Weddings Magazine, and it’s seriously gone by in the blink of an eye. Like every worthwhile journey in life, there have been ups and there have been downs, but it’s been a fantastic adventure that we go on with not only our readers, but also our advertising partners—and we’ve enjoyed every moment of it. We’re excited to see what the next 10 years brings. Thanks for coming along for the ride!
Ok, enough sappiness (we’ll have more of that in the next issue for sure!)…let’s get started on your wedding planning! First up: our featured real weddings! In this issue, we feature 33 of the best of the best from the region, starting on page 127 (and be sure to check out our website each week for even MORE real weddings—every Wednesday is our “Real Weddings Wednesday.” Get it?!).
We know that your big day is a real life fairy tale, but for this issue, some classic fairy tales guided our three styled shoots. We partnered with some of the top wedding pros to put together vignettes inspired by three classics: “Snow White,” “Cinderella,” and “Rapunzel.” We didn’t want these shoots to be direct interpretations of these fairy tales but merely influenced by them—we had a lot of fun putting them together for you and we hope you enjoy them just as much!
Then, check out our cover model contest finalist feature “Take the Plunge”…and, yes, before you ask, Danielle, Britania and Leia really DID jump in the pool in wedding dresses! It was the last shot of the day, and one we were looking forward to all day long! We all had a great time playing dress up—with fun hair, makeup, accessory, bouquet and dress looks—but we admit, it was a little toasty, so while these three lovelies got to jump in the pool at the very end, the rest of our team was incredibly envious and nearly jumped in the pool with them! Turn to page 91 to see all of the looks BEFORE these real bride models took the plunge!
