Fun Fact: We have one golden rule on our couple shoots—no lip-to-lip kissing until the very end of the day! The groom can shower our bride with sweet kisses on her forehead, cheek, or shoulder…but those perfect lips stay picture-ready until the final scene. Why the wait? Because smudged lipstick and red-stained collars (not to mention lipstick-lipped grooms) aren’t exactly camera-friendly!
But when that long-awaited moment finally arrives—watch out! The last kiss of the day is usually the best (or should we say the first?). And when our real groom model Isaac finally got to kiss his gorgeous bride-to-be Marisa, sparks absolutely flew. Let’s just say he wore that shade of red very well, and the whole crew couldn’t stop giggling when they finally came up for air!
Here, you get to learn a bit more of our oh-so-in-love real couple models, Marisa + Isaac!

What made you want to model for this photo shoot?
Marisa: When I heard about this opportunity, I was hesitant to go for it. I never considered myself to be photogenic (I am ALWAYS the one blinking in the group photo), but when I started to think about how this could be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, I knew I had to try!

Tell us about your modeling experience.
Marisa: Modeling for Real Weddings will always be one of my favorite experiences! Each and every person on set made us feel so taken care of, and we truly felt like movie stars for a day. It was inspiring to be surrounded by so many passionate and talented people in the wedding industry. It was an absolute honor to be able to represent such amazing vendors who truly put their whole heart into their products and services. Is post-photoshoot depression a thing? At least we can do it all again on our own wedding day!

How was modeling with your significant other?
Marisa: Being able to have Isaac by my side made it feel so much more comfortable to pose. I was impressed with how much of a natural he was!
Isaac: Modeling with Marisa took away any awkwardness I thought I would feel. It was easy to work alongside such a beautiful bride—she was the star of the show, and I was happy I could be an addition to that.

Did you relate to the concept?
Marisa: I would literally copy and paste every single thing from the shoot for our own wedding. I absolutely loved the Spanish-style arches of the venue, the beautiful yellow flowers, the amazing cake, the gorgeous ceremony and reception setups, and all of the other special details.
Isaac: When we walked into the venue, I thought to myself, ’How did they know what we wanted for our wedding?’

What was your favorite part of the shoot?
Marisa: Getting to be a part of something much greater. Everybody on set loves weddings and love…I can’t imagine a more uplifting and positive setting to be in!
Isaac: I loved seeing Marisa in all of her different dresses. It made me imagine our own wedding, and now I’m looking forward to our big day even more!

Tell us about your love story. How did you meet? What was the proposal like?
Marisa: I met Isaac at the soccer store he was working at in college. We had some mutual friends that wanted to introduce us anyway, but fate made it happen first! He proposed on vacation in Barcelona. We joke that he chose the worst time to do it, because I was sweaty/grumpy/ dying in the Barcelona heat!
Isaac: I knew Barcelona would be the perfect place because it was symbolic of us meeting through soccer, and Barcelona is our favorite soccer team.

If you could offer any advice to engaged couples, what would it be?
Marisa: Have fun making your wedding a reflection of you as a couple. Don’t be afraid to break away from conventional wedding traditions. Do what makes the both of you happy!
Isaac: Definitely try an experience like this, even if it is out of your comfort zone. It gave us so many ideas for our wedding, and it’s like you get a practice round before the real thing.
