Tell us a little about you and your beloved: We met in 2014 on, wait for it…Tinder! We dated long distance between Windsor, Ontario Canada and Sacramento for four years, then on Thanksgiving Eve in November 2017 on the rooftop patio of The Citizen Hotel, Adam asked me to marry him. Three weeks later we eloped to Santa Ynez. After honeymooning in Santa Barbara we went through the year-long process of immigration and then opened up Sacramento Event Co. following my profession as a large scale commercial non-profit event planner. With 18 years in the business it was hard to close up shop back in Canada but reinventing a luxury event furniture rental boutique was the plan.

What was the most amazing part of your day? It all happened so quickly: three weeks to plan a wedding, honeymoon, pick out a dress and coordinate all the vendors. The day was absolutely perfect and there was not one part that was better than the rest. Being able to experience the whole day together with just the two of us was beyond amazing.

Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? Make sure all the details are just perfect for your day, exactly the way you envisioned them. From the rentals and flowers to dress and location and all the way to those who are in attendance. Make your day what you wish it to be, you’ll be so thankful you did.

Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? We would have absolutely loved to have our friends and family with us on our wedding day. Both of our families live abroad (England, Australia and Canada) and with three weeks notice it was not possible to have our family in attendance so it was easiest to just have no one in attendance; to keep things fair. Even though we eloped we made sure we still had the wedding of our dreams. And it turned out perfectly in our eyes.
