Tell us a little about you and your beloved:

How We Met: Myles and I met at Sacramento State when he missed his scheduled pick up for our student transportation (shuttle bus) time. He had to wait an extra hour on campus for the next scheduled bus; which happened to be mine. The next few weeks Myles kept “missing” his scheduled bus and was “stuck” having to wait an hour on campus for the next that “just so happened to coincide with my schedule”!

The Proposal: Myles and I have a tradition of looking at Christmas lights in the Fab 40’s neighborhood of Sacramento every year. One year, Myles told me to meet him after work in our favorite Christmas light neighborhood to look at lights. As we were strolling the neighborhood, a helicopter shone a light down on us and Myles pulled me into the middle of the road, stopping traffic, and got down on one knee. When all was said and done our families came out from behind cars/bushes/hiding to celebrate with us!

What was the most amazing part of your day? Marrying eachother with our family and loved ones surrounding us.

What else would you like to share about your big day? My uncle Bill wrote an amazing song and surprised Myles and I by singing it during the reception. So special!

Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? Don’t stress the little things! There is so much more that goes into wedding planning than I ever could have imagined and it could be overwhelming at times; especially for someone who is not a planner like myself. That said, it helped to break the planning into smaller tasks and accomplish one at a time. It all ends up coming together. It also helped to have a super mom who IS quite the planner.

Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? Absolutely nothing we would have done differently. It was the best day of our lives thus far!
