Tell us a little about you and your beloved: Dan and I met over 10 years ago! Dan was friends with my brothers and we were together for 10 years before getting married!
The proposal was a complete surprise! We planned a trip to NYC in May 2013 to visit our dear friends. We planned on staying with our friends while in New York, but we were taking the red-eye flight and would arrive in New York at 8 a.m. Our friends would be working until 5 p.m. I had questioned to Dan what we were going to do with all our luggage during this time, but Dan had a plan.
When arriving in New York, we hopped into a yellow taxi. “Where to?” asked the taxi driver. Dan responded with “To the Waldorf Astoria!” It was always a dream for me to stay at the famous hotel. We checked into our room and spent the day strolling along the streets of New York City. Later that night, we were getting ready for our dinner reservation. Right before leaving our room, Dan got down on one knee and held out a box, while asking to marry the girl of his dreams.
I didn’t believe Dan until the box was opened! I thought Dan was playing a joke, as he is known to do, and maybe that the box contained some other piece of jewelry. When the box was opened and my ring revealed, I knew it was the moment I had been waiting for. Of course, I said, “Yes!”
What was the most amazing part of your day? The most amazing part of the day was getting to see all our close friends and family together on our special day to celebrate.
What else would you like to share about your big day? We had so much fun planning the wedding and everything turned out perfect!

Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? Start early on the planning, and make the wedding really true to you as a couple. All of the little details that you put into your wedding that shine and relate to your style and taste as a couple, really shows on the big day.
On the big day, enjoy, have fun, and cherish the day and all those around you who are sharing the incredible moment with you.
Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? My biggest regret was not hiring a videographer. The day really does go by in such a blur. I wish I would have had a videographer to be able to capture all the little live moments of the day.
