Tahoe Wedding Inspiration: From Tahoe with Love {Get to Know: Tammy}

Tammy is as bubbly as she is gorgeous! We had so much fun working with her on our From Tahoe With Love cover model photo shoot. Watch and read below to see how much she enjoyed her time on the photo shoot, and her sweet engagement story.

Why did you enter this contest?

I entered this contest because I love everything about weddings, and the beauty that surrounds them from the amazing dresses, gorgeous hair and makeup to the flowers and decorations. I thought it would be a really fun experience to show off several beautiful dresses and be surrounded by all the beauty and fun that comes along with a wedding photo shoot.

What do you do for a living?

I am in sales. For the past eight years, I have worked for a wholesale distributor in the shooting sports industry. I sell directly into the independent retail market; I have amazing retailers and I love everything about it.

What do you do for fun?

For fun, I enjoy running. Mostly in local races around the area. 10K’s, up to half marathons so far. I also enjoy spending time with Terry (my Fiancé) golfing, shooting, going to baseball and football games and any other fun ideas that pop into our heads. My friends and family are very important to me so I try spending as much time with them as possible as well.

Tell us your love story.

Terry and I clicked from the moment we met six (almost seven) years ago. From the moment we met, we knew. We went to Lake Tahoe our first year together and it quickly became “Our Special Place”. We took the gondola up to Heavenly and took a ton of pictures, and just enjoyed every second of making memories together. This year, the day after we ran the 2017 Rock Tahoe Half Marathon, we were able to take the Gondola up and recreate some of those memories from six years ago. We even tried to capture some of the same photos we took back then, feet in the snow, beer at the lodge etc. This time while standing in the snow on the top of Heavenly he got down on one knee and asked me if we could spend the rest of our lives making memories together, and of course, I said yes! (Actually, I think I said, “It’s about time.”) It could not have been a more perfect moment and proposal.

Tell us about your wedding day.

We have not set an official date yet since the engagement is still recent, and it was a complete surprise, however, we are thinking August 2018 and it will probably be an intimate gathering at a venue in Tahoe. What I am most looking forward to that day is becoming his wife. He deserves so much in this world and I am so honored to be the one who can give him the life of love and happiness he deserves. I am sure I will go with pretty fall colors for our theme; I love deep reds and oranges. I hope guests will leave our special day feeling happy and maybe even a new spark of love in their relationships but more than likely they will say, “It is about dang time”.

What did your fiancé think about you entering this contest? What did he say when you became a finalist? What did you think when you were selected?

He was very excited for me and of course thinks I will be the most beautiful bride ever (he kind of has to say that). When I was selected as a finalist, I was in disbelief and so excited, but he just kept saying he knew I would get selected (I love his confidence in me). I was so excited when Wendy called me. I have been on cloud nine from the time I was selected and I still am. I’m hoping they at least got a few good pictures of me.

Tell us about your cover model experience.

This was one of the most amazing days I have ever experienced. It was a fast paced, long day but I was just so happy and excited to be a part of it, it did not phase me much. The application process was easy for me; I just shared my love story. Once I started answering the questions it was hard to stop because my love for Terry is easy to talk about and share with others. There were so many wonderful moments about the day; it is hard to pick just one. If I had to say favorite part it would be the team I had to work with. They made me feel beautiful and special and catered to my every need. The day was very special because of those who I was surrounded by; they made it a memory I never will forget. I felt awesome afterwards, I still do! I want to Thank Wendy and the Real Weddings team for choosing me to represent your magazine: it was truly an honor.
