Alexis and Clancy started dating as teenagers when they were rival high school swim captains. Five years later Clancy proposed to Alexis with a ring he made on his own, and they then started planning for their outdoor wedding at Shadowfall Estate.
They chose the venue because they loved the outdoor space and while they didn’t have a theme, their deep green, royal purple and gold color scheme accented the venue along with the couple’s love of nature.
They had an 11-person wedding party with a family friend officiated the ceremony. “It was perfect,” says Alexis. “It was sweet with just the right touch of funny.” More than 200 guests attended the wedding with a dinner menu featuring tri-tip, mashed potatoes and salad, and multiple cakes including a a four-tier German chocolate cake to top it all off.
The biggest challenge for Alexis was picking out the décor. She credits her vendors as well as her loved ones for making it a success. “I had so much support from my amazing friends and family,” says Alexis. “We were able to get everything we wanted with no compromises.” Farmhouse tables topped with green garlands, colorful vases and candlesticks lined the grass. A gray and gold lounge area acted as a place for guests to relax as well as made a great backdrop for photos.
Alexis and Clancy had fun taking photos with their guests at the photo booth too. They also loved singing and dancing as a group; especially “singing ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ by Queen with all our friends on the dance floor,” shares the bride.
A favorite memory Alexis and Clancy share is sitting around the bonfire with their closest friends and reflecting on the years they’ve spent together. Their wedding combined friends from childhood, high school and college, (not to mention family) which created a truly memorable experience for everyone. “I had the most amazing wedding from start to finish, and I wouldn’t change it for the world,” says Alexis.
