How did you both meet?

We met in 2016. Zach and I were neighbors in our college town, San Luis Obispo. Our two households, five girls in mine and five boys in his, were like a real life “Friends”. We did everything together. So our relationship started as a friendship, but soon evolved into a relationship.

When did you get engaged and how?

We got engaged in April of 2021. It was just a normal day for us, and Zach proposed in our backyard with flowers and champagne. It was 100% our speed.

#VendorRaves

All of our vendors were fantastic! It was such a treat to work closely with my mom — Kelly of Blossom Farm Vintage Rentals — to help create my vision. And, I cannot say enough great things about Park Winters — their team is amazing and everything was perfect!

Budget Priority

We decided to spend most of our budget on florals and the venue. I truly believe florals makes any space 100 times better.

Biggest Challenge

The guest list! We knew there was a high chance of us having to get married inside the barn due to weather, so we needed to keep the guest list a bit smaller than we would have liked to make sure we could all fit inside comfortably. We ended up inviting around 150 people, and it was difficult to cut it down that low with our large families.

Ally’s Favorite Details

I loved the florals! We also had a custom bar sign made to honor our dogs; each of them got a signature cocktail named after them. I loved having a small way to include them on the day.

Memorable Moment

We had a blast dancing the night away with our family and friends! The photo booth was a huge hit as well.

What was the best part of your day?

Our favorite part was having all our friends and family in one place to celebrate our special day with us!

Advice from the couple:

Enjoy it! It’s such a fun and exciting time. Try picking tasks week by week, so you don’t get overwhelmed.
