How did you meet?

We met early into COVID on Tinder – classic pandemic meet-cute story.

When did you get engaged, and how?

We became engaged in March 2022 in front of Philadelphia’s City Hall.

How did planning go?

Our wedding planning was very easy and low stress because we made decisions very easily and early on. We only toured one venue, we picked the first photographer we met with, and I bought the second dress I tried on. I went with my gut on every decision and never second guessed. The major details of the wedding actually came together very quickly, in just a matter of weeks. My favorite part of wedding planning was curating the menu—I had a very specific vision of the types of food I wanted and my vendor made all of it happen.

#WeddingGoals

My biggest priority was that I wanted REALLY good food, and I wanted buffet-style because I have been to weddings with plated dinners and by the time the food got served at my table, the food would be cold and half the guests would already be done eating. I wanted everyone to have a hot meal and to all eat at the same time—I was not going to budge on the buffet. I also wanted people to get seconds if they wanted it (and people did!). I’ve left weddings hungry because the servings were so small, so it was important to me that no one left my wedding hungry.

What was the biggest challenge of wedding planning?

I think the hardest part of wedding planning is just preparing to spend a lot of money and planning ahead for the expenses.

How would you describe the ceremony? Was there anything specific that made it unique to you as a couple?

My brother walked me down the aisle which was something I had wanted ever since I was sixteen years old. It was very special. We also had no bridesmaids or groomsmen, so it was just Cameron and me standing up there together with our officiant. My stepdad officiated and his entire speech centered around my favorite movie “You’ve Got Mail” and how Cameron and my life emulated that because they also met online. The entire ceremony was very personalized and special.

Any memorable moments from your reception? Toasts? Fun dances? Performances?

My brother’s toast was a crowd pleaser. It was hilarious and very personal to Cameron and me. Definitely one of our favorite moments of the night.

Special Cultural Feature

My family is Irish and we did a traditional Irish ring warming ceremony during the wedding ceremony. It is an old Irish tradition that originated to infuse wedding rings with love and blessings from all of a couple’s family and friends. All of our friends and family blessed our rings with good thoughts and happy wishes that we now carry with us every day.

Any funny or unexpected wedding moments that happened throughout the day?

We knew it would be cold, but we didn’t know it would be as cold as it ended up being. Our guests from California and Arizona definitely had a harder time than the Reno locals when it came to the temperatures that night.

Aubrey’s Favorite Part

Meeting Cameron for our private first look moment on the roof of the building where we had our first date. We then went into the restaurant where we had our first date and sat at the bar to have drinks together, and it felt like everything came full circle in that moment.

Cameron’s Favorite Part

Seeing Aubrey in her dress for the first time. I was so happy I was going to spend the rest of my life with her.

Aubrey’s Favorite Detail

We had four tables at our reception and we named each of these tables after something special: Brewer (our dog), Silver Peak (where we had our first date), Philly (where we got engaged), and Mario Party (our favorite video game to play together). Our friend, Allie Ferrari, who is a great artist, created and designed each of these name cards for us and they turned out so amazing. They now sit framed in our house.

Favors

Our wedding weekend ended up being very, very cold. We decided at the last minute to give our guests hand warmers, ear muffs, and fleece blankets—this was a huge hit.

#VendorRaves

All of my vendors were incredible! Roundabout’s food was top notch—one of the things I still hear comments about from guests. The venue was gorgeous and they handled every piece of decor, all I had to was show them inspo photos from my Pinterest board and they made the inspiration come to life. Emma, our photographer, absolutely nailed my vision for wedding photographs and she was so fun to work with. Nikki and Mila made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day, I would not have changed a single thing about my hair and makeup.

Looking back, what do you think guests will remember most about your wedding?

I think the food and the venue (and probably how cold it was).

Advice from the couple:

It’s easier said than done, but, just try to enjoy the process. It doesn’t have to be stressful and I think we are living proof of that. We had an absolutely beautiful wedding that was everything we wanted, and it really was not a stressful experience. Go with your gut when you make decisions and try not to let the opinions of others influence how you design your day.
