#WeddingGoals

We knew we really wanted to have a fun party with our friends and family, so a lot of our planning was focused on creating that type of environment. We also knew we wanted the venue to have a woodsy, magical feel with a fall color palette. Our day exceeded any expectations that we had while planning. It was amazing to see everything we had been working on for so long come together.

What was the best part of your day?

Brooke: Our private dinner in the reception area while our guests enjoyed cocktail hour. We weren’t sure about having this in the schedule at first, but it was so special to take a moment with each other and soak in the fact that we just got married.

Paul: The whole day was great, but I’d say having dinner with just the two of us and then taking pictures together off-site with the photographer.

Any Special Dances? If so, what were they and to what song(s)?

No special dances, but we are both big music lovers so we spent a lot of time picking songs for specific moments throughout the day. The bride’s walk down the aisle song was “Concerning Hobbits” from the soundtrack of the Fellowship of the Ring, which was a surprise for the groom. Our recessional song after the ceremony was “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen, which was so perfect for us.

Any vendor(s) you’d like to rave about?

We could honestly rave about them all. We were so lucky to have had so many wonderful people make our wedding day even better than we ever could have imagined. However, I have to give a big shout out to Makenna at Joyeux Events. Her planning and coordination made our dreams come to life and made our day so special for us. We truly could not have had as amazing of a day without her there every step of the way.

Memorable Moment

The ceremony was magical. A few things that made it special for us were having one of our best friends as our officiant and writing our own vows (Paul had everyone in tears). One of the best parts of our ceremony was when Brooke surprised Paul with the song she walked down the aisle to. Paul loves Lord of the Rings and Brooke chose to walk down the aisle to the song “Concerning Hobbits” From the soundtrack of the Fellowship of the Ring movie as a surprise to him. The look on his face once he realized what song was playing was priceless.

Advice from the couple:

Don’t forget your end goal, which is to get married! You can easily get swept up in the stress of all of the things that need to be done when planning your wedding, but try to remember what it’s all for. Even if a bunch of stuff goes wrong on the day-of, the day is still a success if you and your partner get married.

Anything you would have done differently?

Honestly, we maybe would have tried to cut costs even more. At some point, we just got overwhelmed and kept saying yes in order to just make a decision. Looking back, there were probably some things we still could have cut out to help lower the cost of the day.
