Advice from the couple:
Communicate your vision so people can support you. Have fun and be creative but don’t get carried away with everything being perfect because it comes together.

“To Be Loved” by Jackie Wilson
“At Last” by Etta James
“All My Life” by K-Ci & JoJo
We did a remix of the Anniversary Dance and had the DJ start by inviting all the newly engaged couples out to the dance floor and then the ones who had yet to celebrate one year. That was emotional because my sister and close friend got married on Zoom (on the same day!) so they had yet to have their first dance as husband and wife. The DJ hyped the crowd up when the last couples joined who had been married for 35 years (our parents and aunt and uncle). My dad is a photographer and director of photography and the song was one of the first music videos he made with Stevie Wonder, “Ribbon in the Sky.” I just love love and have been so invested and excited about my friend’s love lives that I truly felt proud to be providing and sharing this moment. My sister said, “In all the moments I cried, I cried the most during the anniversary dance seeing my best friend’s little sister dance with her fiancé, dancing with my husband and just the fact that Chela was so thoughtful to add this during her wedding day.”
How the colors all came together and popped at every turn. His boutonniere matched my yellow nail polish.
The ceremony felt extremely intentional and sacred. It was as though the most beautiful special place was created for our love. Everyone dressed so bright and colorfully, matching the vibrant florals, perfect weather and joy we radiated. We did not see each other or interact at all until the altar, we had a no cell phone ceremony, wrote our own vows, had a good friend and role model marry us, and Kevin’s aunt shared a Bible verse and reflection then led the prayer. There was something so powerful about having 130 people praying for us and our future. I felt a vibration of knowing I was exactly where I should be and truly felt that our future was bright.
We really loved our venue and the owner Anette! She was so nice, helpful, and fun to work with. Tish from Strelitzia Flower Company went above and beyond and turned the florals into such a big and beautiful part of our wedding.
Bride: “The way Kevin looked at me from start to finish.”
Groom: “My wife walking down the aisle, and seeing my family have so much fun.”
