HOW DID YOU MEET?
We met in late November of 2017, after Nick watched an episode of Shark Tank featuring a dating app that matches people based on things they dislike rather than things they like. Nick and Enid were the highest match on the app, and they quickly hit it off, never running out of things to talk about.
WHEN DID YOU BECOME ENGAGED AND HOW?
Enid traveled from India to meet Nick for the first time in December 2024, and her one-month trip flew by, leaving them both uneasy about being apart again. On their last night together before Nick had to take her to the airport, he realized he wanted to spend his life with her. With no ring prepared, he spent the next few hours making one from silver, using skills from his jewelry-making hobby. She said yes, which made leaving in the morning a little less terrible, since now she was his fiancée.

We wanted everyone traveling from far away to be comfortable, especially those coming from out of the country. Enid’s parents weren’t able to travel from India, but her brother and his family came from Australia, and her best friends and cousins came from the East Coast.
HOW DID PLANNING GO? FAVORITE TIME? WORST MOMENT?
Our planner coordinated everything online with us from a different state and did a wonderful job checking in with us every other day. She handled the research while the bride and mother-in-law went on shopping trips, created mood boards, and made the final calls. One tough moment was not finding a florist for a custom installation within budget, but our planner recommended a friend who turned out to be perfect.
WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST CHALLENGE OF WEDDING PLANNING?
Having to decide on so many details with so many options.
WHAT WERE SOME OF THE CHALLENGES OF STAYING WITHIN YOUR BUDGET AND HOW DID YOU MANAGE IT?
We ended up going over budget by more than expected, despite going in confidently thinking we’d have some left over. The biggest challenge was how much more expensive nearly everything was compared to what we guessed. We really lucked out having the venue be a family friend’s beautiful home, which let us not sacrifice too much in the other areas that mattered most to us.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE THE CEREMONY?
The ceremony was so cute yet so humbling, with Nick’s grandfather as officiant giving us beautiful advice and blessings.
ANY MEMORABLE MOMENTS FROM YOUR RECEPTION?
We wrote our vows just a few hours before the ceremony. We’re both shy and didn’t know what to say, but we managed to write a few words filled with gratitude and love rather than traditional vows, and grandpa’s words ended up stealing the show, so what we’d written became our toasts for each other instead. Nick’s mom welcomed Enid into the family with a few words, and Enid’s brother warned Nick about her in a speech filled with humor.

DID YOU HAVE ANY SPECIAL CULTURAL FEATURES TO YOUR WEDDING?
We honored our parents’ and grandparents’ love stories with a photo wall of their wedding photos, which were surprisingly so similar to each other, even though they happened on opposite sides of the planet. We also mixed our cultures with two food trucks serving our favorite street food from Mumbai and San Francisco.
ANY FUNNY OR UNEXPECTED WEDDING MOMENTS?
Enid’s cousin mentioned that this was the first wedding where he saw a bridesmaid posing and making the bride take photos of her, since the bridesmaid was his daughter.
WHAT WAS THE BEST PART OF YOUR DAY, FROM EACH SPOUSE’S PERSPECTIVE?
Bride: After running around doing all the chores for the house guests, the best part of the day was finally having all the guests take care of her and make her feel like a princess, she wishes every day could be like her wedding day. Groom: Seeing so much of my family that I hadn’t seen in years.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE DETAIL FROM YOUR WEDDING DAY?
No one thing in particular, everything came together better than we could have imagined.

Our florist nailed the theme and mood board, and helped a lot with the little details for our tribute table.
WHAT DO YOU THINK YOUR GUESTS WILL REMEMBER MOST ABOUT YOUR WEDDING?
The unique laid-back vibe, and most likely the food trucks.
