On a dating app! But we started talking because we both went to Oregon to see the Total Solar Eclipse in 2017. So we like to say our love was literally written in the stars!
How did COVID affect your wedding?
We cut back everything! An originally 280 person wedding was cut down to our immediate family: nine people total. Although we missed our family and friends, we really did end up appreciating the intimacy of our wedding.
How was wedding planning?
Stressful when the guest list kept growing, but also stressful when we cut it! Favorite times meeting and planning with our incredibly talented and supportive vendors. The funniest moment was driving around town with my mom cutting dried grasses off the side of the road.
How would you describe the ceremony?
My family blows glass, so we each had a color of glass chips and poured them into a single container. Now my Sister will create a handblown glass piece for our home!
Any memorable moments?
When my Dad handed me off at the end of the aisle, he said: “Welp, bye” and everyone laughed.
Were there any special aspects to your wedding?
We made a “Family Tree” by hanging up old family photos of ancestors, family members who have passed and previous wedding pictures on an actual tree.

Flower Details
I made my bouquet, the four maid bouquets, boutonniere pins, archway and table decor. I collected items for a year, and harvested interesting dried grasses, the year before and saved them. Then added to the collection the next season, asking friends, family, and strangers for their pretty dried grasses and flowers.
Vendor Shout Out
Andrew & Melanie, and Antonio were incredibly professional, talented, supportive and truly felt like friends who would do whatever it takes to make our day the best day of our lives. And it was!
Unfortunately due to COVID we cancelled a few of our vendors, including our planner, although our initial meetings with her were wonderful and I would definitely recommend her! Gianna and her company Wild and Lovely Events. We also had to cancel our DJ, but we were going to work with Matt from Someone Said Yes! He was super fun, and we will definitely work with him eventually
Any tips you’d give brides and grooms planning their wedding today?
Don’t be scared of or disappointed in having a micro-wedding. We got to purchase super special dishes, condense our decor to a smaller area which made it look even better and have very special memories with our families. Eventually we’ll throw a large casual party with everyone else!
What would you have done differently if you had the chance?
We realized it was what it was meant to be. We were able to have good conversations and thoughtful interactions with our parents and family on a deeper level than we would have with 200+ guests.
