I knew I wanted the reception to be outside, and we both wanted to get married in Lake Tahoe. August is our favorite summertime month in Tahoe because the water is the perfect temperature.
Special Detail
Having our wedding in Tahoe was a homage to my grandparents. They built a cabin in South Shore in the 1950s. My parents, cousins, siblings, and I have so many core memories in Tahoe and in that cabin.
What was the best part of your day?
Owen: The “First Look.” It finally felt real for [me] in that moment.
Heather: My favorite part was right after we said our vows, and we walked back down the aisle to Prince’s “Kiss” as man and wife.
Favorite Detail
The flowers were incredible, and the outdoor setting on the lake.
Advice from the couple:
Enjoy the process, and take your time…you’ll miss it when it’s over!
Anything you would have done different?
We would have left our reception earlier so that we could enjoy our honeymoon suite and each other. We stayed at the reception until 10 p.m., [and] we should have left at 8 p.m.
