How did you meet?

We met at the gym! I was a personal trainer and my future husband would come to the gym during the time I would teach my morning class to catch my eye. It worked!

When did you become engaged, and how?

We got engaged the summer of 2021, on a mountaintop during sunset. It was such a romantic evening, and a total surprise to me. I knew I wanted to marry this man, but I wasn’t expecting a proposal that evening.

While planning the wedding, was there anything in particular you knew you wanted for the day? Did you have expectations?

We knew we wanted that venue. The most perfect backdrop to our day. It was so beautiful that we didn’t need much in the way of decorations. It was like something out of a fairytale, a pond, green grass, flowers in bloom, a dance floor, beautiful lighting and an outdoor bar set up!

How did planning go?

We actually had a great time planning. I got so much help from my family and bridesmaids that it didn’t feel too overwhelming. My tip would be to select your bridesmaids wisely—of course pick your best friends, but also think about who is good at event planning, crafting, and thinking outside the box.

Biggest Challenge

The budget. Quality is expensive, and cutting corners can leave you wanting more. So really weigh out what expectations you’re willing to let go of and go big on the details that are important to your vision.

#CeremonyGoals

We selected really lovely instrumental versions of fun songs. So if you knew, you knew! And, if you didn’t, it just sounded like classic ceremony music. It was really fun to see our friends smile when they recognized each song.

Any memorable moments from your reception? Toasts? Fun dances? Performances?

Our DJ was a BLAST! He nailed the music. He worked with me beforehand to understand what music I liked and when we wanted each ganera. For example, our dinner music was much different than our Cocktail hour music, different from our dance party music. He had the dance floor packed!!!!

What was the best part of your day?

I know it’s cliché, but I loved every moment. The getting ready, the nerves before the vows, greeting all our loved ones and dancing the night away. I wish I could relive every second!

My husband’s favorite part was out first look. We decided to do it before the wedding, after we got ready. We wanted to savor those moments together and capture the moment in photos.

Favorite Detail

The food! Osorio put together an entire gluten free Japanese-inspired meal. We did it family style so each table had its food, and no one had to wait in line for their meal. It was so special to look out at all our guests visiting and laughing with each other with delicious, beautiful, and colorful food on their tables.

We were warned by other caterers we interviewed that family style was too hard to execute, but I have to say, our caterers did a fantastic job, and it was smooth and successful.

What do you think guests will remember most about your wedding?

No kidding, our guests still tell us that was the best wedding they’ve been to (which makes us feel great cause it was ours too, haha). They loved the food and had a blast on the dance floor, and with our photo booth rental.

Advice from the couple:

Have fun. Know yourself; if you get stressed out, delegate. If you love planning, put a team together and get to work. There is no right or wrong way as long as you make it fun.

What would you have done differently if you had the chance?

Really the only thing is hiring a videographer so I could watch our first dance and vows.
