How did you meet?

Church, [and] our families are both long time friends.

When did you get engaged, and how?

August 2022; Nemo proposed to me on his family vacation on the Huntington Beach pier as the sun was setting! It was beautiful and romantic.

#WeddingGoals

I knew I wanted an awesome DJ and media team. I spent a lot of time looking into the portfolios of our media team and felt confident in their work.

How did the planning go?

Planning was a different kind of beast; our favorite time was picking out our song list and sending that over to Marcellus. Worst moment? Realizing that some things were just out of our budget.

How would you describe the ceremony?

Our ceremony was so amazing, full of prayer and laughter. I would say our time we took to partake in communion would make us unique-ish, right? LOL. It was beautiful and very special to Nemo and I.

Josie’s Best Part

Nehemiah (who goes by Nemo) and I decided not to share vows in front of our family and friends; instead, prior to the ceremony, we wrote letters to each other which was so special. I also enjoyed getting ready with my 11 (yes, 11!) bridesmaids in the bridal suite! It was a little tight but we all made it work and spent some sweet moments together: crying, laughing and praying!

Josie’s Funny Moment

My chair at our sweetheart table ended up being a little too short and our flower arrangement too tall, so it was a little hard for me to see and for our guests to see me.

#VendorRaves

We loved Katie our photographer, Connor (videographer), Jamie and staff from JN Bartending and Marcellus from Plural Music. Katie and Connor plus their teams were so patient and professional. They navigated a wedding with a huge family so effortlessly and our images and video were so amazing! Marcellus kept the party going, was on time with all announcements and was so attentive to the crowd! Jamie and her staff were awesome [and] kept our guests hydrated. Jamie was also an amazing advocate for us, she made sure everything went smoothly and was so pleasant to work with (from bride and family).

Memorable Moment

Our brother Niko (Nemo’s brother) had quite the speech; it was funny, sweet and made everyone cry. It was a special speech for sure!

Special Cultural Feature

Just honoring our Christian religion.

Advice from the couple:

I would advise couples to communicate and enjoy it; it happens and is over too fast! There’s a sweetness to planning your wedding! Also, please take time to hire an amazing photographer and/or videographer. Your day is going to be a blur, there are going to be moments you are not present for, but your media team will be. After the day ends, images and videos will be all that you have to relive the day. Enjoy it and don’t overthink or stress about small details, no one remembers the kind of napkins you have, they remember the fun dancing and love they witnessed!
