How did you meet?
Bobby and I met through work. He is a general contractor and I am an interior designer. One day he asked me on a date and we were engaged 3 months later!
When did you become engaged, and how?
We left work early one Friday afternoon to go to Carmel by the Sea. It was a spontaneous 24-hour trip that turned into a night we will never forget! We had an early dinner, then walked down to the beach. He proposed right as the sun was going down. It was a surreal moment, just the two of us. I was completely caught off guard, so much so that I almost ran away! I couldn’t believe it! There was a power outage throughout the entire town of Carmel that night so we celebrated by candlelight at Sade’s Cocktails. Now, every time we go back to Carmel we stop in to reminisce.
#WeddingGoals
I was most excited about the venue itself, because I absolutely love architecture. The 1920s Italian Renaissance-style mansion was something out of a dream with so many photo opportunities; I wanted pictures taken all over it!
How did planning go?
Planning was so much fun for me; I am designer so I love any time I can be creative. I had a whole vision for it and feel like it was executed nicely.
What was the biggest challenge of wedding planning?
The biggest challenge was the day of, in hindsight, I wish I would have hired a day of coordinator to make sure everything was smooth.
Memorable Moment
We kissed twice during the ceremony before our officiant pronounced us man and wife. Our family wasn’t too happy about it, but what can we say, we loved each other’s vows so much, we just had to smooch!
Special Songs:
First Dance Song: “Love Me Tender” by Elvis Presley
Keriann’s Favorite Detail
My favorite detail from our wedding day was our cake. It was a stunning oversized single tier cake covered in raspberries. It was also delicious!
What will guests remember?
We’ve heard so many of our guests say they loved our vows and comment on how good the food was and how strong the drinks were; many saying:
“Best wedding we’ve been to!”
Advice from the couple:
Take a deep breath; remember it’s just one day, and it’s about what makes you happy.
