How did you meet?

Aaron: I took my mom to eat at Goose & Gander, and Laramie was our server. It wasn’t until I got a job there a couple months later that we became close.

When did you become engaged, and how?

We got engaged August 20th, 2023 in New Zealand. We spent the day at the Waitoma Glowworm Caves, and drove out to Marokopo Falls. Laramie was so focused on the rainbow that came out over the falls, that she didn’t notice I had propped my phone up and got down on one knee.

#WeddingGoals

Lots of candid photos and Whitney Houston hits!

How did planning go?

Securing the venue was our favorite. The worst part was looking at the Weather app every single day for two straight weeks leading up to the wedding. Rain was forecasted on the day of, but about a week prior, it cleared up completely.

How would you describe the ceremony?

The hand fasting was special to us and it was literally Tying the Knot. During our ceremony right after our vows, two doves landed in the fountain behind us, which we thought was symbolic.

Memorable Moments

The two doves landing right behind was probably the most talked about part of the ceremony.

Funny Moment

At our friends’ wedding, I had Nerds Gummy Clusters in my suit pocket, in case anyone needed a snack. Our friends returned the favor at our wedding by bringing some to our table during dinner.

Any special dances?

Laramie danced with Aaron’s dad as a tribute to her late father:  “Remember Him That Way” by Luke Combs

Special Songs

First Dance:  “Biblical” by Calum Scott

Mother/Son:  “Your Song” by Elton John

What was the best part of your day?

Laramie: Getting to have our private moment right after the ceremony.

Aaron: Getting to spend time with my wife and everyone in our life who we love.

Aaron’s Favorite Details

Mine would have to be the cocktail garnishes. We branded all the orange peels at home with our initials and date for the signature cocktails, and instead of the boutonniere I had a crystal pocket square and Laramie had a matching one in her hair. Laramie said she loved her bouquet and all the details.

#VendorRaves

Honestly all of our vendors were amazing. We felt so taken care of from the moments leading up to the wedding to day of. Sara and her team from Curated by Grace + White made everything run so smoothly; our photographer Kaboo and her team made us laugh and feel comfortable; DJ Barnett was the best; and Shelley Kusch, our floral designer, we couldn’t thank her enough. We are just really grateful that we had the team we did.

Looking back, what do you think your guests will remember most about your wedding?

I think they will remember the beautiful venue, the amazing food, and the little details that made the wedding special–the cocktail garnishes, our handmade seating chart, and the doves.

Advice from the couple:

I got some really good advice the day of the wedding, and it was to take a second and capture the moment. Everyone and everything Is happening so quickly the day will fly by, so take a step back and capture a mental picture.
