#VendorRaves

Our planner, Gianna from Wild & Lovely Events, went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our wedding was exactly how we visioned it, there was no detail too small—she brought our ideas to life and made the entire day magical. And our floral designer, Tiffany from The Flower Garage, achieved the unachievable with our flower arch and created a true showstopping centerpiece for our ceremony.

How did planning go?

Our favorite moment of planning was the first time we actually stepped foot in Nevada City and at our venue. The town has such a unique charm to it that we fell in love with it at first sight.
The most difficult aspect of planning was the final let go right before the wedding started and having to trust that all of our planning and work would pay off how we envisioned.

Lilian’s Favorite Part

The reception because not only did I just marry my best friend but I got to dance and have fun with every single person that I care about; and between the music, the candles and amazing flowers, it was simply magical.

How did you meet?

We were introduced by mutual friends and we immediately clicked because we had so much in common.

When did you become engaged, and how?

Kyle proposed September 16, 2021 at the Oogie Boogie Bash at Disney California Adventures.

How did COVID-19 affect your wedding?

As a result of COVID-19 our wedding planning was delayed; we began planning our wedding shortly after our engagement, however, as a result of the pandemic things had to be put on hold. The initial plan for our wedding was to be set in the Hawaiian forest, however, due to the fallout of the pandemic, and difficulties guests were facing with travel, we ending up opting for a location closer to home and easier for our guests to join.

#WeddingGoals

I knew I wanted a small and intimate wedding, along with finding a venue that describes Kyle’s and my interest. We love plants and nature so we knew we had to find somewhere that was filled with nature, and once we saw Harmony Ridge Lodge, I knew it was going to be perfect.

What was the biggest challenge planning the wedding?

The biggest challenge of planning our wedding was the distance between us and our wedding, which is about seven hours away. Having to coordinate the entire wedding via zoom and phone calls with only two in-person visits prior to the wedding was challenging.

How would you describe the ceremony?

The ceremony was an intimate gathering of our closest family and friends. Nature has always played a big part in our lives, we wanted to celebrate this moment with our loved ones surrounded by the tranquility of nature.

Favorite Detail

Our favorite detail of the wedding was our floral arch for the ceremony No one had ever done a full framed arch at this venue before because no florist could pull it off. It was stunning and absolutely perfect.

Looking back, what do you think your guests will remember most about your wedding?

I think our guests will remember how intimate the entire experience was—everyone had a chance to really take in every aspect of the wedding and every person was able to celebrate with Kyle and me.

What would you have done differently if you had the chance?

Nothing, every single vendor and detail was perfect and amazing—I wouldn’t have changed anything.

Advice from the couple:

Make the day about the two of you. Everyone is there to celebrate you, make sure to find a few moments to step back and not only enjoy your wedding, but each other.
