How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends at a house party in 2020.
When did you get engaged, and how?
We went on an early morning hike in Auburn, and he proposed to me by the river. We were engaged by 7 a.m. that day and had to wait for our family to wake up before we could share the news!
How did the planning go?
I LOVED planning our wedding. We were engaged for a year and I feel like that was the perfect amount of time to plan everything. My parents helped every step of the way and we had so much support throughout the process. My favorite things were creating our registry, going to San Francisco with my mom, dad, and cousin to pick out my dress, and getting to talk to/meet all of our amazing vendors.
How would you describe the ceremony?
Our ceremony was beautiful! I’d say it was a standard, Christian ceremony.
#VendorRaves
They were all amazing!
#WeddingGoals
I really wanted to be fully present on our wedding day, I wanted to be on the dance floor all night with my husband, friends, and family, and I wanted everyone to have a great time. I think we were successful in all of these expectations!
Memorable Moments
About a minute into the father/daughter and mother/son dance, we had our DJ invite all the fathers/daughters and mothers/sons onto the dance floor to join in the respective dance. Everyone loved it! Also, we got married on my mom’s birthday so after we did the cake cutting, we brought a birthday cake out for my mom and everyone sang to her.
Funny Moments
The best man speeches were hilarious! Our officiant also cracked a few jokes during the ceremony which was so fun. During the bouquet toss, one of my bridesmaids really wanted the bouquet, and it was so funny seeing the photos of her going after it.
Best Part of the Day
Bride: Seeing everyone on the dance floor having a great time.
Groom: Waiting for and seeing the bride walk down the aisle.
Lillie’s Favorite Detail
One of my favorite details was the signage. We used a floor length gold mirror for our seating chart, and included a reference to our first dance song. Our welcome sign was also a gold mirror. My cousins and grandma worked together on the handwriting for the signage which was a special touch. My grandma, dad, sisters, and cousins also made the floating arch and greenery on the chandeliers! It was so special to have my loved ones give their own personal touch to the day, and we’re so blessed to have such amazing people in our lives.
What do you think your guests will remember most about your wedding?
I think they’ll remember the heartfelt message from our officiant during our ceremony, and I think they’ll remember the party! The pizza for dinner was also a hit.
