How did you meet?
We were both born and raised in California, Lance in Roseville, and Maddy in Elk Grove. We both moved to college in the Midwest, and met through mutual friends at a party our freshman year of college.
When did you become engaged, and how?
We got engaged March 2023 at our annual couple photos we’d taken every year since we started dating. That year Lance planned it and we went to a State Park in Grand Forks, ND. Before he had popped the question, I almost made him cut the photos early because my boots got soaked, and I thought I was going to get frostbite. To convince me to stay longer and so he could propose, he switched his wool socks for my kiss lips socks! Shortly after being proposed to, we were walking uphill and I fell in a snow bank which covered my entire left side of my body and we thought I lost the ring. So our engagement was beautifully chaotic!

A taco bar for dinner! In lieu of a fancy plated meal, we wanted to enjoy some good tacos. Because, who doesn’t like tacos?!
How did planning go?
I loved planning our wedding and being involved in every step of the way! Our favorite time was once all the vendors were booked, it felt like the hardest thing was done and now we had just the small details to plan.
Biggest challenge during wedding planning?
Planning a wedding from half way across the country while in college!
How would you describe the ceremony?
We had flower men instead of girls and told them to make a show of it! We wanted them to light everyone’s spirits and they sure did! Kyler and Brady have constantly been the life of the party, and we wanted them to show everyone at our wedding that side of them too!
Our ceremony was bright with life, but short and sweet to the point. We were ready to party to being newlyweds!
Memorable Moments
The dance floor was lively! One of our best men, Matt, has been in dance for years and busted a move or two for all the guests! You could not peel me from the dance floor for those last three hours! Everyone was busting a move!
Any funny or unexpected wedding moments that happened throughout the day?
I forgot my husband’s vow book at the Airbnb, so I panicked and told him I’d ditch mine for our private vows. Luckily he is very Type A and typed them on Google docs! So he had to read his off his phone!
As we were doing the dip at the end of the aisle, I got my foot stuck on the tulle of my dress, resulting in me almost falling but ripping my dress!
Any Special Dances?
Couples Song: “Look at Us” by Vince Gill — We got all the couples on the dance floor and just made the motion to get everyone dancing. These were some of my favorite pictures, having all the decades of couples dancing around us.
Special Songs
First Dance: “Spin You Around” by Morgan Wallen
Father & Daughter Dance: “I Loved Her First” by Heartland
Mother & Son Dance: “Can She Have This Dance” by Drew Baldridge
What was the best part of your day?
Lance: Maddy saying “I do.”
Maddy: Having all our family and friends around to witness our big day!
What was your favorite detail from your wedding day?
Lance: The foam glow sticks for the dance floor.
Maddy: Our Tequila Unity Shot at the altar (shocked the grandparents for sure).

All of them! They were all fantastic to work with, as we planned our California wedding from college in North Dakota. So seamless and easy!
Looking back, what do you think your guests will remember most about your wedding?
Great food, music and vibes.
Advice from the couple:
Do not stress the little things! Take one step at a time; there’s no need to rush.
