How did you meet?

We met online on Hinge.

When did you become engaged, and how?

We got engaged in March 2024. Nicco asked me to marry him by surprising me with our closest friends in the salon where I work while we were closed. I was helping the owner/dear friend with some housekeeping tasks. Total surprise when I walked out of the break room and saw all our friends and him!

#WeddingGoals

For the ceremony, we wanted something small and intimate with just us and my daughter (Scarlett, 8 years old).

How did planning go? Favorite time? Worst Moment?

It was pretty easy to plan the ceremony/elopement. The hardest part after picking the date was securing it. I had to set an alarm at midnight 90 days prior to our chosen date to be able to secure the reservations online for the time/day we wanted.

What was the biggest challenge of wedding planning?

Staying organized! We planned our wedding six months after our engagement, so staying organized was key with the limited time frame.

How would you describe the ceremony?

Our ceremony was beautiful and emotional–we all cried! We wrote our own vows which ended up having a lot of similarities including sentiments of becoming a family. It was the perfect moment. Madelyn’s sister and fiancé flew in from Boston to be our witnesses along with Nicco’s best friend and his wife from Sacramento.

Any memorable moments from your reception?

After our ceremony we went to Legion of Honor to take photos. After that we headed to The Buena Vista for celebratory Irish Coffees (the best ever) and then had a walk around Ghirardelli Square before departing back to Lodi, CA to prep for our reception the next day.

Special Dance:

First Dance: Die with a Smile by Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars

What was the best part of your day – from each spouse’s perspective, please?

Madelyn: The best part of the day for me was the excited buzz we felt walking into city hall, and our vows of course. It was such a special moment for us to come together as a family.

Nicco: The best part of the day was probably watching Madelyn come through the hotel lobby in her wedding dress. For context, we had a meet cute/first look in the hotel lobby by an amazing grandfather clock before heading to city hall.

Looking back, what do you think your guests will remember most about your wedding?

The few that we had with us will remember it as being a love-filled moment.

Advice from the couple:

Do it your way! Don’t let any friends or family influence you. The wedding is for you and your partner and is so incredibly special, so make it your own! Whether that means eloping or having an elaborate, glam ceremony, if you stay true to yourself, your day will be amazing.

What would you have done differently if you had the chance?

The only thing we would have done differently is spent a bit more time in the city before heading home to prepare for the reception the next day. The party was great but the ceremony day was our favorite!
