How did you meet?
Eric and I met through a mutual friend at Sonoma State University in 2009, and began dating shortly after that. We were best friends who fell in love and have been together ever since!
How was wedding planning?
Planning was sooo much fun! I loved organizing all the details, and getting to bring Eric and my wedding vision to life was a fun experience. Morgan from Jenn Robirds Events was fabulous at helping us really pull our vision together and helped with all of the small details. We had always envisioned getting married outside under a tree and our venue, Field & Pond, was the perfect place!
How would you describe the ceremony?
Eric and I wrote our ceremony based off of some of our favorite moments from other weddings we had been to. One of our favorite moments of our ceremony was “a moment of pause” where our officiant had us pause and look out into our crowd of guests and really take in the moment. Wedding days fly by, so it was sweet to take a moment to look at our guests, take in the scene and really cherish the moment of marrying my best friend.
Anything unexpected happen?
Before the ceremony I forgot to grab our wedding rings from the ring box and realized that I forgot them in the middle of the ceremony only Moments before the ring exchange. I looked at Eric with the biggest, most panicked eyes and asked him about the rings. He chuckled and whispered “No worries babe, I got them!” with a wink and a smile. I was soooo relieved! I couldn’t believe I forgot such an important thing!!!
Any memorable moments?
Our first look was so magical and a moment we will never forget. All of the emotions and anticipation of 10 years of dating and waiting for our special day were wrapped up in our first look moment. It was perfect. We couldn’t stop smiling and pinching ourselves that our special day was here! We also did a last dance with all of our guests and then afterwards Eric and I had a final last dance just the two of us. It was the perfect way to end our big day, just the two of us relishing in the final moments of our wedding day. Bliss.
What was your favorite detail from the day?
Eric and I loved our Champagne wall that also doubled as our escort table. We had glasses of Champagne on a display wall with each guests name and table number on it. Each guest went up to the wall, found their glass with their name and table number on it and then took their bubbles to their table to be seated for dinner.
What was your favorite part of the day?
Melanie: Our first look was my most favorite moment of the day. It was a private moment between Eric and I that held sooo much emotion for both of us. (It doesn’t hurt that Jessi’s picture of this moment are sooo beautiful and captured our emotion perfectly).
Eric: Walking into our reception at dinner time and being announced as husband and wife and Mr. and Mrs. Kraszewski. I felt so happy and excited during that moment, and it hit me that it was official—we were married!!
