Conspired into love by coworkers, Nicole and Jared dated for several years before deciding to tie the knot. On the fourth anniversary of their first date, Jared proposed to Nicole in the very restaurant where they met.
“Our wedding was more traditional; it was important to both [of us] to be more classic, as family and the meaning of marriage is very important to us,” Nicole says. With the desire for a wedding focused on tradition and classic comfort, the couple chose Haggin Oaks Golf Course for its versatility. The outdoor ceremony had a rustic feel, including wine barrels, reclaimed wood signs, and even personalized corn hole boards to entertain guests before they exchanged personalized vows.
Nicole says her goal for the wedding was, “to have a great time together and share the celebration of our love.” Since both Nicole and Jared are big baseball fans, particularly of the Giants, and were, coincidentally, married on a day the Giants were playing in the World Series, they gave the groomsmen engraved baseball bats as gifts and used a bat and glove in their wedding photographs. Though it rained earlier that day, the showers cleared by midday—leaving behind a breathtaking sunset as the backdrop for their special day.
The tented reception featured an autumn palette of gray, coral and blue, which close friend and event designer Kristin Wittenberg wove seamlessly into their floral designs and décor. Incorporating family traditions into their special day was of utmost importance. Because of this, they were honored to display a tablecloth handmade by Jared’s great grandmother, which had been a part of every wedding in Jared’s family since the ’40s. And in keeping with a longstanding tradition of Nicole’s family, a variety of homemade cookies were given to guests as favors in personalized boxes.
Nicole says that though the emotions of the day were intense, remaining true to her personal style and vision helped her keep the atmosphere intimate but comfortable. “Having all of my family and close friends all in one place sharing this special day with my husband was such an overwhelming and joyous feeling,” she explains.
The newlyweds feel their bond is even stronger now and are looking forward to starting a family of their own when the time is right. After the celebration of their commitment to each other, they relaxed with a romantic honeymoon in Maui, before returning to their careers in the health care industry.
