How did you meet?
We worked at Starbucks together in 2016, he was my shift lead and trainer at the time. It wasn’t until he was about to move away to Oregon that we decided to give it a shot. Our first full year together was long distance, and the rest is history! We’ve been together since 2017.
Tell us about your engagement.
We got engaged in February of 2024. Unfortunately, my husband’s father was passing away, and he thought no better time than to involve his dad in the process. On 2/10/24, he proposed in the UCSF hospital, and it was the best day.

Besides lots of color and a simple aesthetic, the only thing I truly wanted was hanging flowers at the ceremony site—so my expectations around it were high. Jessica, our floral designer, blew me away; I was in awe the entire afternoon.

How did planning go?
Planning was a lot of work and it was extremely time consuming.
The best was probably picking out my dress and accessories, same for helping my mom, dad, maid of honor, and my husband and best man.
One of the most challenging was creating the invites. This was one of the first things I did where my husband and I did not agree! It took a while to get on the same page as far as color and design. Once we got there, everything else came together fairly easy.

Biggest Challenge?
Communication with others/vendors and agreeing on design and vision.

How was the Ceremony?
It was short and sweet, just what we wanted. Our officiant created the most perfect speech that was both entertaining and serious at the same time. We wanted that quick moment to be an impactful yet fun and light moment. Our vows were also short and sweet, about two minutes long each. I loved every second of it.
Memorable Moments
My husband gave the sweetest toast to his late father. The speech was filled with tears and laughter, it was perfect.

Unexpected Moment
During our father-daughter dance, my shoe fell off so my dad got down and slipped it back on, like Cinderella!

Special Dances:
First Dance: If I Ain’t Got You by Alicia Keys
Family Dance: Here Comes the Sun (Father/Daughter), Sunrise by Fulton Lee (Mother/Son)
Last Dance: Is There Any Love by GRiZ

What was the best part of your day?
Phoebe: Driving to our wedding together. It was so exciting and nerve wracking at the same time! But still so fun to have that quiet moment together.
Trevor: Saying our vows.
Phoebe’s Favorite Detail
I spent the first few hours of the day with my mom, sister, best friend, and a close friend who did my makeup. It was a quiet, relaxing morning—getting ready together, eating yummy food, sipping mimosas, and listening to my favorite reggae hits.

Looking back, what do you think your guests will remember most about your wedding?
I think they will remember a day that represented who we are as people. It was fun and laid-back, yet serious when it needed to be. I think our day spoke true to who we are as people, and as a couple.

#VendorRaves
The team at Round Hill Pines Beach Resort was so awesome, and made us feel so taken care of with the entire experience. Our photographer, Amber, and her team from Shoop’s Photography, made us feel so beyond comfortable, and brought such a fun element to our day.

Advice from the Couple
Do what feels true to you! Go that extra mile—the day is for you and your partner so it should represent you both.

What would you have done differently?
I would have visited the venue more and measured.
