When did you become engaged and how?
Maca set up a surprise picnic on the American River and proposed.
How did the planning go?
Lots of little details were overwhelming, but once we got our key vendors in place it took a lot of pressure off of us—then we could focus on the fun aspects and really make it our own.

The officiant has known me (the bride) since I was a baby, so it was incredibly personal. It also featured parts of the ceremony in Portuguese for the Brazilian friends and family in attendance.
What was the best part of your day?
Maca : The whole thing, but especially having my mom there with us from Brazil.
