How did COVID affect your wedding?
We had to reschedule our wedding for May 23rd with a guest count of 200 to August 2nd at a guest count of 75. We had to plan for two scenarios, a ceremony only or if we got the green light still plan for the original full wedding. We were looking good until July 4th hit and cases spiked which we were left with the big decision of either reschedule for the next year or continue forward with the ceremony only, no traditional reception.
How did wedding planning go? What was the biggest challenge?
Planning went great! Both Mike and I were on the same page with everything and all went so smoothly. It was a lot of fun! The budget increasing was a bummer but mostly having to sit in limbo not knowing what we could and couldn’t do and rescheduling was the only time it got really complicated.
How would you describe the ceremony?
Simple and brief but special and exactly how we ultimately wanted it.
What was your favorite detail of the day?
Having our two sons with us and having them a part of it all.
What was the best part of the day?
Seeing each other for the first time and seeing our day just as special as it would have been had we had our original plans in place.
Looking back, what do you think guests will remember most about your wedding?
Seeing that it is possible to have a more scaled back wedding that is still special and beautiful.
