Rebecca and Gerardo (better known as Becky and Jerry) met in a communications class at Fresno State University, but after graduation, life took them in separate geographical locations.

Despite the distance, their strong relationship—and communication skills—kept them together. During the many long drives to visit Jerry, Becky discovered a billboard advertising a jewelry store, and she loved how they always had cute sayings with the letter “O” in the shape of a diamond.

Years later, Jerry arranged for Becky to meet him in the Bay Area to drive with him to pick up some new furniture for her parents. As they got closer to the store, Jerry began talking about their relationship and their future together. As Jerry pulled into the parking lot, Becky noticed rose petals leading to a sign that read “Forever and Always.” One of her friends was standing nearby with a camera, and it didn’t take long for Becky to realize what was going on—and for the tears to begin flowing. Jerry got down on one knee in the center of a heart made of roses and asked Becky to marry him. He then asked Becky if she noticed her favorite billboard, which happened to be right across the street. It read, “Becky, will you marry me? Love, Jerry.” After years of reading favorite billboard sayings, this one became her favorite.

The couple found Delta Diamond Farm very early into their planning and knew right away it was the perfect place to pull off the rustic barn wedding they dreamed of. Most couples choose to have their ceremony on the courtyard of the venue, but Becky and Jerry were so enamored with the barn that they wanted both the ceremony and reception to take place inside. They were thrilled and impressed that the venue was able to so seamlessly flip the barn from a ceremony to a reception without disrupting the wedding or the guests—and the s’mores bar certainly didn’t hurt to keep guests happy and occupied.

Looking back on the orchestration of the entire day and watching everything fall into place is a great memory for Becky, but her favorite moment was the first dance with her new husband. “I cried the entire dance…happy tears of course,” she says. For Jerry, seeing Becky walk down the aisle is a favorite moment. “I took a deep breath as her entrance song came on and all I could think of was all the memorable moments that led us up to that point.”
