Ever wonder if you can meet “the one” while working out? Just ask Robin and Robert who met at the gym.

They dated for two years and got engaged on Robin’s birthday. “It was a complete surprise,” she says, noting all her friends and family were there to share the moment.

After a one-year engagement, Robin and Robert married in a spring wedding at Amador Cellars in Plymouth.

They chose their venue for its beauty and had a neutral color scheme of lavender and off-white, to complement, not distract from that beauty. “It was such a fun venue and spring is the best time of year at the winery,” says Robin, explaining the invitations, which she ordered online, had a “hint of a vineyard theme.”

Seventy-five guests attended the ceremony and reception, and the couple wrote their own vows. Their good friend officiated the nuptials. Robin laughs about a wedding mistake: “We ended the ceremony and forgot to do the rings,” she says.

They had a small wedding party with the groom’s son serving as best man and the bride’s best friend as maid of honor.

Robin has many favorite wedding day details, especially the flowers and decorations.  “The groom’s daughter, sister and family friend created amazing decorations and flowers,” she says.  “We had a special tribute to the groom’s mom and dad that have passed away.”

The reception inside Amador Cellar’s spacious barn featured a wedding menu of chicken, beef, fresh veggies and homemade biscuits. For dessert? A three-tiered lavender delight cake.

For the bride, the biggest challenge of the wedding was not knowing exactly what she wanted…but she figured it out. The wedding was a success, leaving her marveling at how, “smooth and fun the day was, almost stress free.”

Asked for her advice for other couples, the bride says, “Enjoy your special day—ours went by too fast.”
