The planning was great. I knew what I wanted and I went with it. I am a very organized person so I was on top of planning. My favorite part was definitely when we hit like a month out and I could physically see my vision coming to life. The worst moment was not knowing what the conditions would be due to COVID.
It was romantic. Our decor was so romantic with all the candles, and I feel like it truly set the mood. We wrote and said our own vows, and then we hopped the broom. One thing that made it unique for us is that when it came to song selection for parts of the ceremony, we stayed very true to ourselves and the style of music that we like.
Bride: Seeing how happy and excited everyone was to celebrate our love. It had been such a long time coming and with COVID, it was the first time a lot of our family had been together in a long time. It was so nice to see and celebrate with everyone whom we love and who loves us. Also our sons seeing us get married was the cherry on top.
Groom: The reception because it was definitely a big party.
Our reception was literally the best part of the wedding. The energy from our wedding party and guests was insane. From our separate entrances by couple into the wedding, to the dress change, to me strolling with my sorority it was literally a party the entire time. One of the best parts was Anthony’s uncle surprising him with an uncle and nephew dance and seeing how happy and joyous they were.
I almost tripped when I was jumping the broom but, thankfully, caught myself!
Have fun and enjoy it. Have your wedding be everything that you and your partner want it to be. It is a day to celebrate your love so stay true to yourselves and live in the moment and enjoy it.
