How did you meet?
We met at work seven years ago at a Halloween party.
When did you get engaged, and how?
We became engaged in September 2021. Eli proposed in our backyard and set the backyard to look like a scene from the bachelor’s “Final Rose Finale.” It was truly magical! I knew he would ask me soon but I had no idea it would be that day! He pulled it off beautifully.
#WeddingGoals
I knew I wanted it to be very interactive and entertaining, which is why we had two photo booths, three casino tables and a very talented MC playing games with the guests.
How did planning go? Favorite time? Worst moment?
We had two years to plan our wedding. My favorite time was choosing the vendors early on. The worst moment was doing (and re-doing) the seating charts. We had about 15 people text us and say they were not able to make it….even two days before the wedding! That was the most frustrating because we would have to sit down and readjust the entire seating chart.
Biggest Challenge
Not realizing how many ‘last minute’ purchases there would be.
#CeremonyGoals
We had a traditional Serbian Orthodox ceremony. It was a dream and felt like a royal wedding. The beauty of the church really shows in our pictures. The most unique part of the ceremony was when crowns were placed on our heads—this tradition symbolizes that the bride and groom are now the queen and king of their own kingdom.
How would you describe the ceremony?
The ceremony was intimate, yet lighthearted. We gave personal vows with a heartfelt words and a little laughter sprinkled in.
Memorable Moment
The entire reception was just my absolute favorite. I could not pick just one moment because the entire day was beyond perfect. More than anything I could ever imagine. Our vendors went above and beyond to give us the most perfect wedding.
Special Cultural Feature
The ceremony was a traditional Serbian Orthodox ceremony and the reception was more Americanized. We didn’t have too many cultural features at the reception.
Funny Moment
Yes multiple! We had a groomsman almost faint at the church which eased the nerves a bit! For a moment it felt like not all eyes were on me and it gave me a moment to breathe.
What was the best part of your day?
Stefanie: Partying at the reception with our family and friends!
Eli: Being with Stefanie
Favorite Detail
The entire ballroom was a dream. I think it would be impossible to just choose one detail because it all contributed with each other to create a perfect vision.
#VendorRaves
All of them! They were wonderful!
What do you think guests will remember most about your wedding?
How much fun they had! There were so many things for our guests to do, and of course, the open bar 🙂
What tips or advice would you give to couples planning their wedding today?
Set aside 10-20 minutes with your bride/groom. We had a separate limo for just us from the ceremony to the reception and it was just a quiet moment to take it all in. And it’s true what they say, the day goes by SO FAST. So enjoy every moment.
What would you have done differently if you had the chance?
I can’t think of anything. It was perfect the way it was.
