How did COVID affect your wedding?

COVID-19 presented a lot of challenges with our guests and venue because county restrictions were constantly changing for indoor reception gatherings. We had to have a back up plan which included having our reception outdoors, timeline of the wedding ending earlier and guest count reduced to about 80 people. Luckily for us, two weeks before our wedding Placer County restrictions were lifted for indoor gatherings so we were able to have 100+ guests and the indoor reception we originally planned for.

How did wedding planning go?

The planning process wasn’t too stressful, Stephanie did a lot of research on Instagram beforehand. We knew what vendors we wanted and the overall ambience/style of the wedding. Our favorite time was picking songs for the wedding ceremony and reception. Our worst moment, was deciding who we may potentially have to cut from attending our ceremony due to COVID restrictions.

Any memorable moments?

A memorable moment from our reception is when David and his groomsman Ryan performed “Ribbon In The Sky” by Stevie Wonder to Stephanie. Also, David and Stephanie both did tribute dances with their mothers.

What was the best part of the day?

David: Dancing at the end of the night. Everyone was just able to let loose including Stephanie and I. We KNEW at that moment, that our work was done for the day and we could FINALLY BREATHE! Looking to my left and my right I saw our moms dancing, friends, siblings, kids… it was such an amazing feeling knowing that everyone was there to dance and celebrate with us. Ending our wedding with the most amazing creation of new dances and dance-offs I have ever seen.

Stephanie: I really was happy when I got to see Dave for the first time during our first look. It was such an emotional moment where we both got to see each other and just take in what we were about to embark on. It definitely helped with both of our nerves and jitters before the ceremony started. We were both so happy that our big day was finally here!

What do you think your guests will remember about the day?

We truly believe that our wedding was a lot of people’s first glimpse at witnessing two people’s happiness; which in turn allowed them to smile and have fun while celebrating our union. 2020 was such a rocky year for people all over the world. With us being able to hang in there and still have our dream wedding be the “BEACON of Love ALWAYS Wins” was huge. Our guests will definitely remember our classy, yet fun wedding for years to come based on the feeling it provided to them.
