How did you meet?

We met at church.

When did you become engaged, and how?

His big surprise was given up by a family member. So he asked my mother what he should do, and she told him just do it on a random day where she won’t expect it. December 22, 2020 it was a random Tuesday looking at lights in the fab forties with our daughter. I did not know it was happening at the time. and was really not feeling the walk on a cold night. But it was all worth it in the end. We came to a beautiful lit up home and we started taking pictures and he was getting down on one knee but I thought he was doing a jail style pose only to my surprise he pulled the ring out. People driving their cars down the street yelled out “Say Yes!” I was so shocked I really don’t remember if I said yes, or not. Such a special moment between the three of us.

#WeddingGoals

I knew I wanted our venue to be Morgan Creek Golf Club, as it is such a beautiful space. We felt comfortable there, and we knew they would take care of us…and they did!

How would you describe the ceremony? Was there anything specific that made it unique to you as a couple?

Everyone in attendance knew of our journey together. We only wanted to be surrounded by people we loved, and that’s what made it extra special.

Memorable Moment

My grandfather’s Bible was on our communion table—he passed away in 2020. During the ceremony, the pages would flip randomly when there was no wind, so I knew that he was with me on our wedding day.

Any unexpected moments from your reception?

Being surprised with an original song for our first dance. Thank you again, T.J. Marshall.

Tamarah’s Best Part of the Day

My favorite part of the day was reading my husband’s vows to me in our special book, that no one has ever read out of but us. We made a promise to never bring negative things to that book. And we have kept that promise to each other since we got it.

Pat’s Best Part of the Day

Before walking out to the ceremony area, I had a moment where I realized what I was about to do—make a lifelong commitment. So I stopped and honored God for bringing my wife to me. And I asked for the strength to love Tam; to care; to not retreat within myself. And I cried—I didn’t care who was there. All I wanted was to be Tam’s husband.

What was your favorite detail from your wedding day?

Our Photo Booth was so much fun, and everyone enjoyed being able to add to a picture to a guest book.

#VendorRaves

I loved each and every one of my vendors but the real star was our DJ Elias. Without him the party would not have been the same!

Looking back, what do you think your guests will remember most about your wedding?

The dancing, the party atmosphere and the love that was in the room.

Advice from the Couple:

Make sure you never lose focus of each other. It is YOUR day as a couple; listen to each others wants and just know it will all work out. Don’t stress over little details, and keep the line of communication open between the two of you.

What would you have done differently if you had the chance?

We would have loved to have a videographer; just to have a video to replay with each other would have been nice.
