When Amelia and Steven met as five-year-olds, no one could have guessed they’d end up walking down the aisle together decades later. Their relationship deepened over the years, turned serious the summer he asked her to senior prom, and never looked back. Fast forward to a surprise proposal atop a snowy Park City ski mountain and an April wedding day at a private bayside estate, and the couple built a celebration rooted in family, heritage, and nearly a decade of history together.

Rain rolled in just thirty minutes before the ceremony was set to begin, and what could have been a crisis turned into one of the day’s most memorable moments—family, friends, and vendors all pitching in to move things indoors, with Steven’s cousins performing “Hallelujah” on piano as Amelia walked in. Deep ranching roots on both sides of the family showed up throughout the celebration, from a custom brand used to mark a redwood slab during the reception (guests were invited to bring their own brands, too) to cowboy hats and boots woven into the wedding party’s attire. Dueling pianos took over the dance floor later in the evening, and by the time the rain cleared for sunset portraits overlooking the bay, the day had become exactly what Amelia and Steven had hoped for: a celebration centered on the people they love most.

We’re thrilled to feature their love story in the Summer/Fall 2026 issue of Real Weddings.
