How did you meet your fiancé( e )? We met during college winter break in January 2008. After hanging out at a friend’s house twice, Mike presciently asked Joanna to go on a date. Our first date was a double date at PF Changs. Quickly, we both realized we had a lot in common as we were both the presidents of our college organizations.

How was the question popped? Mike took Joanna out to dinner at the restaurant they went to on their first date, PF Changs. We had not been there since our first date. Mike stopped to tie his shoe while walking to the car after eating, but was too nervous to ask then. After dinner, we came home and were greeting our dog in the living room. On one knee, in front of the lit Christmas tree, Mike asked Joanna to marry him and spend the rest of our lives together.

What type of wedding are you planning? Dish all the details! We are going for an elegant country-style wedding. The location is intimate and will include 100 of our closest friends and family. We both don’t like wedding cake so our dessert will be mini cupcakes. Our colors are grey and yellow and the main flower is a sunflower. Sunflowers were my grandma’s favorite flower and are also my mother and mine.

If money were no object, what would be your one splurge at your wedding? If money grew on trees or if we won the lottery, we would get married at a castle in Europe. We would fly all of our family and friends out for a week of fun! Everyone would stay at the castle and we would have our ceremony inside one of the great rooms and the reception outside on the beautiful grounds.

Are there any questions you would like to ask other engaged couples, newlyweds or wedding vendors? Ask them here and readers will leave comments for you below! We are having our almost two and three year old nieces as the flower girls and our miniature schnauzer and nephews, seven and eight years old, as our ring bearers. Any suggestions to help us convince them to walk down the aisle the day of are greatly appreciated. We are worried that they will change their minds last minute.
