Set amid lush gardens, blooming florals, and the quiet beauty of The Farmhouse at Apple Hill, we’re delighted to present our styled shoot, “Dancing into Love.” This styled shoot captures a joyful, romantic celebration filled with movement, connection, and timeless elegance. Designed and thoughtfully curated by Kendall of Kendall Melissa Events, who led a team of talented local wedding professionals, the vision came to life as something both intimate and elevated—where soft, romantic details dance effortlessly alongside the serene, garden-filled setting.
Flowing draping sways gently through the ceremony and reception spaces, creating a sense of airiness and ease, while lush florals and vintage-inspired accents add warmth, texture, and a touch of nostalgia. Thoughtful layering and playful details shine throughout the design, from beautifully set tabletops and cozy lounge moments tucked beneath the trees to an elegant cake display and customized signature cocktails enjoyed beneath the gazebo—each vignette feeling refined, inviting, and joyfully celebratory.
At its heart, this shoot is a celebration of love in motion—captured through candid laughter, twirls set against the breathtaking views of the Sierra foothills, and genuine connection. It’s a sweet reminder that when heartfelt emotion meets thoughtful design, a wedding day can feel editorial yet joyfully personal, blending classic romance with a modern sensibility that feels truly timeless.

When we asked our shoot designer Kendall with Kendall Melissa Events about her inspiration for the shoot, she said, “As soon as I stepped onto the beautiful, sprawling lawn at The Farmhouse at Apple Hill, I was immediately inspired. It is hard not to be swept away by the expansive views of the orchards that sit just beyond the ceremony site, which offers breathtaking sunset vistas. I’ve always been drawn to shapes and their juxtaposition to draw inspiration from.
My main anchoring point for the inspiration for the shoot was the beautiful iron arbor running down the center of the front lawn. Your eye immediately goes to the large, white farmhouse, which sits just beyond the end of the arbor. The arbor connects the farmhouse to the ceremony location that sits just beyond the end of the brick pathway underneath the arbor. The square shape inspired me to juxtapose the rectangular angles with soft, round edges with connected round tables in a serpentine shape. I was inspired by dreamy, flowing drapery that was consistent throughout the design. I imagined the drapery at the ceremony flowing in the wind, creating a soft and romantic vibe. I wanted to carry that same feeling over to the dinner space with the asymmetrical drapery flowing down on either side. I also wanted to carry the same romantic vibe in all the signage. The welcome sign was a dreamy, see-through design imprinted with the couple’s names, paired with the beautiful table number design that flowed down the sides of the tables.
In addition to the shapes and the drapery, the next inspiration came through in the color palette. With the white farmhouse and the existing flowers around the venue, I wanted to complement their colors with a main emphasis on a beautiful buttery yellow. I absolutely fell in love with the lavender and yellow glassware, which gave me the inspiration to lean heavily in the yellow color. The grounding color was varying shades of green in all different textures. I wanted to pair the shades of green with hints of mauves, pops of yellows, and a small smattering of pink to create a beautiful depth of colors that would cohesively tell a color story about the farmhouse and the existing flora already surrounding it. I wanted to add in different textures with satins, velvets, chiffon, and suede, to create deep depths of colors, creating a richness that would pop, especially in front of the white farmhouse. The textures were not only found in the linens, but also within the flowers, the cake, along with the invitation suite, and the menus, creating cohesion throughout. All in all, the concept drew from the Farmhouse itself, the beautiful designs, shapes, colors, and textures.” We think the result will have you, Dancing into Love!
