Hannah and Ryan kept their wedding day refreshingly simple: just thirty of their closest family members gathered at a private estate for a ceremony beneath an arch dripping in burgundy, plum, and marigold blooms. No bridal party, no fuss—just the two of them, a scattering of white folding chairs on the lawn, and a quiet exchange of vows as evening light settled over the fields. Inside, the reception carried that same rich, romantic mood through the night: deep jewel-toned linens, brass candlesticks, and a seven-tier ombré cake fading from plum to blush, all glowing under strings of café lights. A vintage mirror photo booth etched with the couple’s initials gave guests one more way to celebrate, while a lounge corner of velvet sofas and warm lamplight kept the evening feeling like a gathering in someone’s living room rather than a formal affair.

Hannah and Ryan’s story goes back further than most—they first met in an 8th grade dance class. Ryan proposed on Easter, hiding the ring inside an Easter egg for Hannah to find. With Barnswallow handling the planning and design from start to finish, the couple was free to simply enjoy the day; instead of a bouquet toss, Hannah handed her bouquet directly to her mom, a small, sentimental moment guests still talk about. Looking back, Hannah’s advice to other couples is simple and firm: hire a wedding planner. It’s a sentiment that shows in every detail of this warm, low-key celebration.

We’re thrilled to feature their wedding in the Summer/Fall 2026 issue of Real Weddings!
