We are just beyond excited to feature this wedding as this week’s Inspiration Board. Florence and Michael were the first Wish Upon a Wedding recipients and we’re honored to share their wedding with you!
The Couple: Florence and Michael Davis
Wedding Date: March 13, 2010
Tell us a little about you and your beloved: We met on his bus route in the Bay Area (Route 93). We begin to talk and went on our first date in San Francisco, by the Fisherman’s Wharf. From there, we continued to talk a lot and became a couple. We felt in love and from there got to know each other more. As time has passed and we’ve been together Michael has treated me like a princess. He was so sweet and caring. As our relationship continue to grow, I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, and I felt everything was over for me. I started to push him away because I felt he deserved to be with someone who wasn’t going through a illness. He told me that he wasn’t going anywhere, that he loved me no matter what and that we would get through this.
Michael has given up a lot to be by my side, and I had felt sad about that. But he let me know that I meant everything to him, and he’s been here through it all.
When he proposed to me we were sitting at home watching a movie, and he told me he had met his other half and wanted to make our family complete.
What was the most amazing part of your day? Being surrounded by family and friends. Also, seeing my dad and mom because they live in another state — that they were able to make it to the wedding. But most of all, marrying the love of my life…my better half.
What else would you like to share about your big day? All the thanks to Nastasha Verkest, my wedding planner, and Wish Upon a Wedding for making this a memory that will last forever for me and my family. We didn’t want the day to end…it was so beautiful!

Live, love, laugh always and forever.
