Tell us a little about you and your beloved: We met through a coworker and mutual friend in the beginning of 2011. At first she was a bit hesitant about Jon asking me out, fearing if it ended badly she could be in a messy situation between an old friend and a new coworker. Lucky for her, we hit it off and the rest is history.
Jon proposed on a walk along the water in San Francisco, while I was complaining of wanting a dog. Hoping for a dog for the 1 year wedding anniversary present. We decided immediately that we wanted our wedding to be in Lake Tahoe, since we had spent many special weekends there together.
What was the most amazing part of your day? Every minute was amazing, so it is impossible to pick. If I had to, I would say the best part was the feeling of pure joy, excitement and love throughout the day. It is what we both remember most vividly and fondly. It is truly amazing to have all the special people that you love in one room together. Their presence, support and love, made the day even more wonderful than I could have possibly imagined. I know we are slightly biased, but Jon and I have decided that the reception was the best party we have ever been to.
What else would you like to share about your big day? Our wedding could not have been as beautiful and perfect without all of our fabulous vendors! We had complete trust and faith in our vendors, in particular our wedding planner Scott, which allowed us to completely relax, enjoy and be truly be present for every second of the day. He helped to make the whole process so easy, and guided us every step of the way. We are also so grateful that we found photographers and videographers that were not only able to capture the beauty, joy and essence of the day, but were also able to fit seamlessly throughout the day and actually make it that much more enjoyable and fun! We will forever have our memories from the day thanks to them. And of course a shout out to our entertainment, JumpStart that really got the party going!

Any advice you’d give to our readers who are planning their weddings right now? Don’t sweat the small stuff. Just think of the big picture and enjoy the process. Allow yourself to be truly present in the day, and if possible, sneak off for a few special minutes with your partner to watch the wedding night and party unfold. I would also recommend, if possible, having some sort of event or gathering on the Friday before or Sunday after the wedding. We did a gathering on both the Friday and Sunday, and it gave us a chance to spend some real quality time with all of our guests and allowed us to enjoy our big day on Saturday. We highly recommend it, especially if you are doing a destination wedding.
Anything that you would have done differently if you were given the chance? Nothing at all!
